Give breakable belongings extra protection during your move.
Some belongings can’t be packed the same way as books, clothing, or other everyday items. Glassware, mirrors, artwork, lamps, antiques, and delicate décor may crack, chip, or break if they shift inside a box or come into contact with other objects during your move.
In & Out Moving & Delivery LLC offers fragile item packing in Hickory, North Carolina. Our trained team uses the most suitable packing materials and proven methods to prepare delicate and valuable belongings for transport. You can request help with a few difficult pieces or include packing as part of a larger move.
Fragile item packing may involve:
- Choosing a box that suits the size and shape of the item
- Wrapping each piece separately
- Adding padding to fill empty spaces
- Keeping fragile pieces from rubbing against one another
- Securing boxes so they remain closed during handling
- Marking boxes that require careful placement
Before packing begins, simply point out anything that’s especially valuable, irreplaceable, or easy to damage. Letting our crew know about these pieces gives everyone time to discuss how they should be handled. If an item has a loose part, existing crack, or weak area, it’s a good idea to mention that as well.
Furniture should also be emptied before moving day. Drawers filled with breakable objects can make a piece much heavier, and the contents may move around while it’s being carried or transported. Packing those belongings separately is safer for both the furniture and the items inside.
